Discussion Questions:

James 1:13-14

1. James says that temptation does not come from God or our circumstances but from desires that lie within. Why is it easier to blame others and our circumstances for temptation than our desires? Who or what do you tend to blame for your sin?

2. James uses a hunting/fishing metaphor to explain how temptation entices and draws us away from safety where we’re caught by sin. What is the safety we’re drawn away from?

3. What are the internal temptations that pull you off course? How can we avoid the path of self-destruction that these lead us down?
